The Government of Canada has launched an open selection process to fill a number of current and upcoming vacancies on the Destination Canada (DC) Board of Directors.

As Canada’s national tourism marketing organization, DC is responsible for marketing Canada as a premier four-season tourism destination where travellers can enjoy extraordinary experiences. It is governed by a Board of Directors that is reflective of best practices in modern corporate governance. The Board consists of up to 12 members who oversee the management of DC, provide strategic guidance, and effective oversight. The Board ensures that appropriate systems of governance, leadership, and stewardship are in place to enable DC’s management to lead the organization effectively.

Tourism Nova Scotia is a private sector led Provincial Crown Corporation created to drive tourism growth in the Province and foster a more globally competitive tourism industry through innovative, strategic marketing and sector development initiatives.  This is achieved by marketing Nova Scotia as a desirable tourism destination, fostering cooperative relationships, partnerships and initiatives amongst the various private and public stakeholders that comprise the province’s tourism sector, and by generating research and information regarding tourism that support marketing and that inform strategic and investment decision making by private and public sector stakeholders.

As Nova Scotia’s tourism brand steward and chief marketer for the destination, Tourism Nova Scotia’s marketing team is focused on attracting visitors from markets of highest return. The team focuses on consumer and trade channels to develop new markets and generate measurable, incremental visitation and revenue growth. In addition to working with industry to showcase world class experiences that will motivate travel to Nova Scotia, the marketing team also works with Destination Canada, the Atlantic Canada Tourism Partnership and other partners to extend Nova Scotia’s marketing reach.

TNS is looking for a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) who is excited about the opportunity to lead Tourism Nova Scotia’s marketing team with efforts in doubling tourism revenues by 2024.
